“THE ARMOR OF GOD PRAYER”:
Lord on this day — I put on the armor of God:
Help me fasten the belt of truth around my waist;
That Your words might be planted deep in the core of who I am.
Protect me with the breastplate of righteousness —
Not mine but yours — that I might not allow sin or shame;
To separate my heart from your love for me in Christ Jesus.
Fit my feet with the gospel of peace;
That I might follow you to people and places
That need to hear the good news through my words and actions.
Help me to take up the shield of faith today;
That the flaming arrows of distraction, division, & discouragement
Might not reach me or those under my care.
Cover my head with salvation;
That my thoughts might be filled with your grace.
Keep the Sword of the Spirit — Your Word
Always close at hand (in my heart and mind);
That what has been planted there might bear fruit in my life.
In Jesus’ name. AMEN.
