This is a three part ministry that provides food to homeless/displaced people in the area and to others in our community that are hungry. We enjoy serving with each other by offering food to replenish their bodies and prayer to replenish their spirit.
“Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay them for what they have done.” Proverbs 19:17 NIV
One part of GAP takes lunches to the Murfreesboro Motel on the 2nd Sunday of each month after second service. We pack around 120 bags filled with sandwiches and condiments, which we wrap the morning of the delivery, individual snacks, and water.
It is our goal to grow this ministry by getting more people involved so that we can branch out to other areas of need in the area! If you’re interested in serving in this way, contact Crissy Rogers at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Food donations can drop off in the wagons by the FC Kids door, or either door on the east side of the building.
Monthly needs (individual sizes):
- Bottled water
The second part of GAP is a small group of people that pack and deliver boxes of food to those one step out of homelessness in some of the local motels around Murfreesboro. This group also ministers, prays, shares the Gospel, and gives away Bibles to any that are interested. There are many children living in these motels, usually with only 1 parent.
The third part of GAP is a group of people who pack food boxes for people who come into the church that are hungry. Much of the same food items are used in the boxes that go to the motels as the boxes that remain at the church for those who call or come by for food assistance. The following items are in constant need of if you feel led to donate:
- Canned Vegetables
- Canned fruit
- Canned meat (chicken, tuna, vienna sausages)
- Canned soup
- Instant Potatoes
- Pancake mix
- Pancake syrup
- Peanut butter
- Dried beans
- Mac & Cheese
- Spaghetti Noodles
- Spaghetti Sauce
- Hamburger Helper
- Tuna Helper
- Stuffing Mix
- Cake Mix & Icing
